In order to effectively strengthen the fire fighting and rescue work of high-rise buildings, and at the same time to further enhance the comprehensive fire fighting and rescue capabilities of the troops, we must resolutely prevent and contain the occurrence of major fire accidents. On the afternoon of August 29, the Ruian Brigade of Wenzhou Detachment conducted a fire-fighting and rescue exercise for key units in the jurisdiction.

For this exercise, a large-scale crowded place integrating accommodation, catering, bathing, and KTV entertainment was selected in a targeted manner-the international hotel with a total of 25 floors in the main building. The fire situation is set to the hotel’s 7020 room on the 7th floor. A fire broke out in the sofa due to guest smoking accidentally. Smoke and fire quickly spread to other guest rooms on the side. Then the entire floor was filled with smoke. More than 10 people including guests and waiters were besieged by fireworks., Waiting for rescue.

The drill started at 3 o'clock in the afternoon. The firefighters dispatched 3 water tank fire trucks, 1 rescue vehicle, 1 climbing truck, and 28 fire officers and soldiers arrived at the scene. After arriving at the scene, I saw "booming smoke" on the seventh floor of the International Hotel, and several trapped persons beckoned to "call for help" outside the window. According to the fire reconnaissance situation, the commander on board quickly issued a battle start order in accordance with the plan, and all the combatants carried out reconnaissance, demolition and smoke exhaust, assault and fire fighting techniques and tactics in accordance with the disposal procedures of the fire fighting and rescue plan. First, climb the car to the window on the seventh floor to rescue the trapped personnel. Then a fighter used a fire truck to supply water to the water pump adapter. Members of the first group of tackling team went deep into the fire scene and used indoor fire hydrants and fire trucks to send out 3 water cannons against the fire. In the second attack group, the fire was extinguished from the east and south stairwells. The third attack group was divided into a rescue group and a smoke exhaust group, wearing air breathing apparatus, azimuth lights, carrying lights, and stretchers. Enter the lobby on the first floor to search and rescue other trapped persons. After nearly half an hour of intense and orderly handling, the "fire" was completely extinguished and the trapped personnel were rescued safely. The exercise was a complete success.

After the exercise, the on-site commander immediately commented on the situation of the exercise, pointed out the good aspects and shortcomings of the exercise, and requested commanders at all levels to improve and revise the high-rise building fire fighting plan according to actual combat needs. In the actual combat exercises of key units, further improve coordinated operations and rapid response capabilities to improve the overall combat capabilities of the unit.
