Last night, the awarding ceremony of the "Hometown of Chinese Folk Art" and the sympathy performance of the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles and the Chinese Music Association "Send Happiness, Go to the Grassroots-Walk into Ruian, Zhejiang" was held in the Municipal Conference Center.Dong Yaopeng, Secretary of the Party Leadership Group and Vice Chairman of the Chinese Music Association, awarded Li Wuwen, Deputy Secretary of the Municipal Party Committee and Acting Mayor of our city (pictured).It is reported that there are 35 "Hometowns of Chinese Folk Art" (Chinese Folk Art Training Base) in the country, including 3 in Zhejiang Province. Ruian is the only county (city) in Wenzhou to receive this title.Wenzhou and our city leaders Qiu Yangjun, Chen Jianming, Ye Shilin, Bai Yifan, Chen Shengfeng, Huang Yiyou and others participated in the ceremony.

It is understood that in the period of the late Qing Dynasty and the Republic of China, our city has basically established a variety of performances such as Wenzhou Drumming, Lotus, Daoqing, Huagu, and Paijie, which have been passed down to this day.Among them, the "Guo Zihao" intangible cultural heritage project-Wenzhou Guci, has been sung for more than 300 years.Today, Wenzhou Guci has developed into one of the main types of folk art in East China. A large number of Wenzhou Guci works have won awards in national and provincial performances and competitions.At present, there are 137 members of the Municipal Music Artists Association, including 4 members of the Chinese Music Association and 14 members of the Provincial Music Association. There are more than 100 artists specializing in Wenzhou Drumming.
